Recruitment
Interfraternity chapters recruit new members during both Fall and Spring semesters. Recruitment in Fall semester is the primary time for recruitment. Additionally, chapters may participate in 365 recruitment by recruiting and extending bids for membership at any time outside of the fall recruitment cycle. Chapters will host recruitment events at their respective chapter house, another campus building, or the greater Golden area.

Fall Recruitment
At the start of the Fall semester, IFC chapters will host recruitment events and send out bids over a one week time frame. During this week, potential new members (PNMs) are encouraged to attend as many events to meet and learn more about each chapter. All chapter recruitment events will be posted on social media and marketed around campus leading up to the first day of recruitment. Registration to participate is required and free. By registering, you can stay up to date on recruitment events.
Spring Recruitment
Recruitment during the Spring semester is a less structured style of recruitment and not all IFC chapters will participate. Participating chapters will host recruitment events similiar to Fall recruitment. PNM registration is still required!
365 Recruitment
365 Recruitment allows chapters to actively recruitment new members following Fall and Spring recruitment events. Not all chapters will extend membership bids throughout the year as not all chapters participate in this recruitment style.
Intake
Another process to join certain FSL organization is called intake. Intake is the membership selection and initiation process for Multicultural Greek Organizations (MGC) and National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). Colorado School of Mines recognizes one MGC organization, Lambda Alpha Upsilon Fraternity, Inc. (LAU) which participates in Intake. This process is more private between the chapter and PNM.

Colorado School of Mines and the Fraternity & Sorority Life Office follow an Expansion Process to help promote mutual selection between the institution and national organizations. Our process is in place to ensure the health and sustainability of our current community and that the FSL Office has the capacity and resources to dedicate to new chapters.
Colorado School of Mines is not currently open for expansion. The following fraternities are not at or recognized at Colorado School of Mines:
