SIGMA KAPPA (ΣK)
About
The Zeta Pi chapter of Sigma Kappa was established on January 26, 1980, making us the oldest national sorority at Colorado School of Mines. Since our founding, the chapter has grown to include 121 active members and a network of more than 600 alumnae, all connected through Sigma Kappa’s strong national sisterhood. As women pursuing careers in STEM, our shared experiences foster lasting friendships and provide a powerful support system that encourages each member to achieve her fullest potential. Zeta Pi takes pride in empowering women to develop their leadership skills and become confident, compassionate leaders within our campus and community.
The four core values of Sigma Kappa are friendship, personal growth, service, and loyalty, which serve as the foundation of our sisterhood. These principles guide our mission to provide lifelong opportunities for social, intellectual, and spiritual development while uniting women who strive to make a positive impact in their communities. Through leadership, service, and sisterhood, Sigma Kappa inspires each member to grow in character, strengthen the bonds of friendship, and lead with integrity and purpose.
deia position statement
The Zeta Pi chapter stands firm in its belief in diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility for all. As an organization we continuously examine ourselves, policies, and practices to better support these ideals. Promoting equality and fairness among sisters is rooted deeply in Sigma Kappa values and individuals, and with these beliefs true personal growth, friendship, and loyalty are possible.
